Well, I have told you before but I will say it again, I am a firm believer that things happening for a reason. I recently was given an opportunity to meet another caregiver who has truly become the hands and feet of our community. When his family normalized the abnormal symptoms his mother had been experiencing, he stepped in to make sense of the abnormality.
In just a moment you will meet, Chris Graham, local owner and operator of Home Helpers in West Austin, Texas. After spending 25 years in the tech industry he was thrust into making life-changing decisions of care for his mother. From living through a traumatic battle to care for his mother out of state and convincing family that help can come in many different forms, he modeled his company to provide those services. Chris has been on the other side of this conversation personally with his own mother so he knows what we are feeling and what can be done to help make sense of the abnormality.
Listen in as Chris shares his traumatic experience in becoming a caregiver and stepping away from a career to not only meet his Mother's needs but also follow his heart into a new career. His company motto - B.O.L.D.

What is Home Health and Why might you consider it?
If you are living with your loved one or have a loved one aging in place in their home, then you most likely have experienced a situation similar to Chris and his family. We often find ourselves in moments that are overwhelming, emotionally, and/or physically. We normalize or downplay the situation to desperately cope or find a place of comfort outside of our box.
Like me, I was in denial while my family normalized the abnormal changes. My career at the time was my focus but it also gave me an opportunity to avoid the overwhelming unknown ahead. When push came to shove I found myself in over my head with less and less help from family. Some things are out of our wheelhouse of skills and sometimes we have the skills but lack the time. The struggle to simply find the balance day to day can create more stress.
Chris has found a way through Home Helpers to help people live independently in the comfort and security of their own home. No matter if you are looking for skilled or non-skilled home health services Home Helpers provides Respite and Specialized Care, Homemaker services and Companionship, 24-hour monitoring services, Nutritional and Meal Prep Plans.
